(Credit: Getty Images)OXFORD, Ala. (WIAT) — Oxford Police have a suspect in custody following an apparent road rage shooting that left one dead Monday afternoon.
Tommy Butts, 71, faces charges of murder and certain persons forbidden from possessing a firearm.
According to Police Chief Bill Partridge, Butts and the victim were involved in an altercation outside of their vehicles at the intersection of Highway 21 and Recreation Drive.
Butts allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot the victim once. The victim, who has yet to be identified by OPD, was pronounced dead at the scene.
