
4 Alabama chefs to compete in Alabama Seafood Cook-Off
The 2023 Alabama Seafood Cook-Off event is coming soon, and a chef from a Birmingham restaurant is one of the competitors.According to a news release, Chef Sam Adams works at Small Batch restaurant, and earned a spot among four finalists with a recipe featuring gulf red snapper over gulf crab salad.The other chefs are from restaurants in Magnolia Springs, Orange Beach and Auburn.“This year not only saw the highest number of entries submitted to us in ASCO history, but also the best and most solid options statewide. We were blown away by chefs’ creativity in presenting Alabama Gulf Seafood through new and interesting recipe creations,” said Chef Jim Smith, board chairman of the Alabama Seafood Marketing Commission.The cooking competition takes place June 12 in Orange Beach.The winner earns $2,500 and will represent Alabama in the Great American Seafood Cook-Off in New Orleans in late summer.
