
4 people hospitalized after shootout in Birmingham's Lakeview area
A man and woman were shot in a parking lot and two men who left the scene were also found shot.
Birmingham police are piecing together a shooting that sent four people to the hospital.Just before 1 a.m. Sunday, two Birmingham officers were working off-duty at a bar in the 2700 block of 7th Avenue South gunshots were fired at a parking lot nearby.They found a woman and a man who had been shot and were told that another person who was involved in the shooting was leaving in a vehicle.Officers followed that vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near the 700 block of 21st Street South where they found that two people inside had also been shot.Birmingham Fire and Rescue crews went to both locations and took the victims to a hospital. The man who was found in the parking lot and one of the men in the vehicle both have life-threatening injuries.
