6-year-old struck by vehicle in Ensley neighborhood

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- A 6-year-old was struck by a vehicle while riding a four-wheeler in Birmingham's Ensley neighborhood Saturday afternoon.

According to the Birmingham Police Department, the incident occurred at Avenue G and 34th Street Ensley at around 4:20 p.m. The child was transported to the hospital by Birmingham Fire and Rescue.

BPD says the child sustained major injuries.

No one is in custody at this time.
