Adorable videos capture baby sea turtle heading out to the ocean

Sea turtle hatching season is in full effect.Brent Levy shared these photos and videos to sister station WJCL's Facebook group recently, showing a tiny turtle on Tybee Island, Georgia, heading out to the ocean with the caption, "It was a magical morning!"According to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the first nest discovered this season was found back in May at the Blackbeard Island Natural Wildlife Refuge in McIntosh County.Sea turtle season runs through October.Georgia set a modern-day record for loggerheads in 2022 with 4,071 nests, which produced more than 266,000 hatchlings. The loggerhead population has been increasing at approximately 4% annually since the early 1990s but is soon expected to plateau for the next 15 to 20 years.
