Alabama has added a second player to its class of 2025. Mason Short, a four-star tackle from Evans, Georgia, tweeted his announcement on Sunday.

The rising junior is listed at 6-foot-7, 280 pounds and is the No. 70 player in the 247Sports Composite and the eighth-ranked player in Georgia. Short held offers from Tennessee, Georgia, and Louisville, among other schools. His primary recruiters were tight ends coach Joe Cox and offensive line coach Eric Wolford.

Playing at left tackle and left guard for Evans High, Short was a dynamic player in the run game and made a hobby of finishing pancake blocks. The Knights averaged 163.9 rushing yards per game. Short fits the wide-framed blocker Wolford has sought out in his time on head coach Nick Saban’s staff. Wolford made a strong push in his first recruiting cycle with five OL commits, including a flip in the No. 1-rated 2023 tackle, Kadyn Proctor.

Saban detailed earlier this week the balance of recruiting after a recent spring practice. Short is the fourth prospect to choose the Peach State in classes from 2022-25. According to 247′s Hank South, Short was in Tuscaloosa on Sunday.

Saraland five-star and elite wide reciever prospect Ryan Williams became the first player of Alabama’s class, currently listed second nationally, when he committed in October. The Tide currently has four 2024 recruits, including two five-stars: California quarterback Julian Sayin and Clay-Chalkville’s Jaylen Mbakwe.
