RIGHT SIDEBAR TOP AD

TURNING NOW TO THE WEATHER, WE HAVE THREE IMPACT DAYS COMING UP FROM WIND TO RAIN TO COLD TEMPERATURES. YEAH. METEOROLOGIST TAYLOR SARALLO HAS A LOOK AT WHAT’S TO COME. BUT FIRST, LET’S GO TO CHIEF METEOROLOGIST JASON SIMPSON. WITH THE WEEKEND OUTLOOK. YEAH. FIRST ROUND OF IMPACT WEATHER IS GOING TO HIT US ON SUNDAY. SATURDAY ITSELF TOMORROW. NOT BAD IN THE 40S. SUNDAY, THOUGH, WE CLIMB TO THE 50S VERY LATE IN THE DAY AS A POWERFUL STORM SYSTEM WINDS UP JUST WEST OF US. SO HERE ARE THE THINGS TO WATCH OUT FOR. WIND GUSTS OVER 40MPH. THAT’S GOING TO CAUSE SOME SPORADIC POWER OUTAGES. SOME HERE, SOME THERE. PROBABLY NOT AS WIDESPREAD AS WITH THE STORMS THAT WE HAD LAST WEEKEND, BUT STILL SEVERAL THOUSAND POWER OUTAGES ARE POSSIBLE. UP TO AN INCH OF RAINFALL AND A VERY LOW SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR MOST OF ALABAMA TO THE WEST. THAT SEVERE WEATHER THREAT IS HIGHER IN MISSISSIPPI AND ARKANSAS, LOUISIANA AND INTO EASTERN TEXAS AROUND ALABAMA. JUST THE FAR WESTERN EDGE OF THE STATE IS WHERE WE’RE ANTICIPATING THAT RISK OF A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM. WIND GUSTS COULD GO OVER 60MPH THERE. HERE’S THE TIMELINE ON THIS. WE’RE THINKING ABOUT 4:00 IN THE AFTERNOON ON SUNDAY. THAT’S WHEN THE PEAK WIND GUSTS ARE GOING TO HIT OVER HERE AROUND HAMILTON AND FAYETTE AND ALICEVILLE AFTER 6 P.M. FOR JASPER IN COLEMAN UP TO HUNTSVILLE DECATUR THROUGH TUSCALOOSA AND EUTAW. 8:00 SUNDAY EVENING THROUGH THE EARLY PART OF MONDAY MORNING AROUND ANNISTON AND TALLADEGA THROUGH THE CENTRAL PART OF JEFFERSON COUNTY AND SHELBY COUNTY, UP THROUGH ONEONTA. HOW HIGH WILL THE WIND GET WITH THIS? WELL, I THINK WE COULD GO AS HIGH AS 40 TO MAYBE 50MPH IN SOME INSTANCES BY 10:00. YOU’VE GOT A WAVE OF HEAVY RAIN AND SOME ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS COMING THROUGH. MOST OF THAT NOT SEVERE BY DEFINITION, BUT THE WIND IS GOING TO BE SIGNIFICANT WITH THIS. AND THEN CHECK THAT OUT BEHIND THIS, THE WIND STILL BLASTING IN HERE ABOUT 35 TO 40MPH. BUT BY THIS TIME MONDAY MORNING, THE COLD AIR IS GOING TO BE HITTING US AND TAYLOR IT IS GOING TO GET VERY COLD VERY QUICKLY. IT IS. AND SO WE HAVE IMPACT WEATHER MONDAY AND TUESDAY BECAUSE OF THAT COLD. IT IS JUST GOING TO BE WINDY EARLY IN THE DAY ON MONDAY. AND THEN WHEN YOU FACTOR IN THE WIND SPEEDS AND THOSE VERY CHILLY TEMPERATURES, IT’S GOING TO FEEL MORE LIKE THE TEENS AND 20S FOR SOME LOCATIONS BOTH OF THOSE DAYS. AND SO THAT IS GOING TO BE SHOCKINGLY COLD, ESPECIALLY IF YOU’RE WAITING OUT AT THE BUS STOP IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS. OUR HIGH TEMPERATURES THROUGH NEXT WEEK ARE ONLY GOING TO MAKE IT INTO THE 30S. I WANTED TO QUICKLY SHOW YOU WHAT OUR MORNING WIND CHILL VALUES ARE GOING TO BE THROUGH THE THROUGH THE WEEK. SO IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE STANDING IN THE COLD WHEN YOU FACTOR IN THE WIND, HERE’S WHAT IT’S GOING TO FEEL LIKE MONDAY. WE FEEL LIKE THE 20S. TUESDAY FEEL LIKE THE TEENS. WEDNESDAY WE FEEL LIKE THE TEENS. THURSDAY. WE ALSO FEEL LIKE THE TEENS. SO AN ARCTIC AIR MASS ON THE WAY FOR ALABAMA. LET’S TALK MORE ABOUT IT HERE IN OUR SEVEN DAY FORECAST. SO AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE DAY MONDAY IT’S JUST GOING TO BE WINDY AND VERY COLD. WE’VE GOT A HIGH IN THE 30S, BUT IT FEELS CHILLIER THAN THAT THROUGHOUT THE DAY. THEN ON TUESDAY MORNING WE’RE STILL A BIT BREEZY, SO WE DO HAVE TO TALK ABOUT WIND CHILLS. AND THIS IS MORE WHAT IT’S GOING TO FEEL LIKE. WE’RE TALKING THE TEENS AND A LOT OF LOCATIONS. SO YOU DEFINITELY WANT TO BE BUNDLED UP. THIS IS THE KIND OF COLD WHERE IT COULD TURN DANGEROUS. IF YOU’RE OUTSIDE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. THEN ON WEDNESDAY WE WILL START THE MORNING IN THE 20S. THESE ARE YOUR TEMPERATURES ON THE THERMOMETER. AND THEN BY THE AFTERNOON, WE ONLY WARM INTO THE 30S. SO ALL DAY LONG WE’RE HOLDING WELL BELOW AVERAGE FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR. THIS IS THAT COLD AIR WE’VE BEEN TELLING YOU ABOUT FOR QUITE SOME TIME. IT IS FINALLY ABOUT TO BE HERE. WANTED TO QUICKLY SHOW YOU THURSDAY BECAUSE WE ARE FORECASTING A TEMPERATURE IN THE TEENS EARLY ON THURSDAY MORNING. AND THIS IS THE KIND OF COLD WHERE YOU ARE GOING TO WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU’RE PROTECTING YOUR PIPES. BRING YOUR PETS INDOORS. THIS IS THE KIND OF COLD THAT CAN REALLY CAUSE SOME PROBLEMS. SO DEFINITELY LOOKING AHEAD TOWARD SOME COLDER AIR THROUGHOUT MUCH OF NEXT WEEK. BUT BETWEEN NOW AND THEN, AS JASON WAS TELLING YOU, WE’VE GOT TO WATCH FOR SOME WIND GUSTS SUNDAY. AND ALSO THE THREAT OF S
