Very warm through Thursday, rain and storms hit by Friday night

THIS IS WVTM 13 WEATHER AFTER A BEAUTIFUL DAY. WE’VE GOT A COOL DRY NIGHT COMING UP. IT’S 60 RIGHT NOW IN BIRMINGHAM. THE WIND IS CALM. AND AS WE LOOK AHEAD TOWARD THE WEEKEND, FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING COMING UP FOR THIS THREE DAY PERIOD. A FEW STORMS WILL DEVELOP FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND FRIDAY EVENING AND GO THROUGH AT LEAST THE FIRST PART OF THE DAY, SATURDAY. I THINK ONCE WE GET TO SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING, THE SHOWERS ARE STARTING TO MOVE OUT. SO RIGHT NOW I THINK IT’S A TIMEFRAME OF ABOUT 9 P.M. FRIDAY THROUGH 9:00 IN THE MORNING ON SATURDAY WHERE WE COULD DEAL WITH SOME RAIN JUST ABOUT ANYWHERE AROUND HERE, INCLUDING TUSCALOOSA, FOR ALABAMA’S EIGHT DAY GAME IN BIRMINGHAM AND OF COURSE AT THE TALLADEGA SUPERSPEEDWAY. AND THEN COME SUNDAY MORNING, IT’S GOING TO GET A LOT COLDER. WE’RE FORECASTING 39 SUNDAY MORNING, A BREEZY, COOL KIND OF DAY AND THE HIGH ONLY GETTING TO AROUND 63 AND THE AFTERNOON. WELL, WE’VE GOT A LITTLE BIT OF A RANGE IN TEMPERATURE AROUND HERE RIGHT NOW. PELL CITY ONE OF THE COOLER SPOTS AT 52 JASPER IS THERE AS WELL. IT’S 54 IN GADSDEN, 57 IN TUSCALOOSA, AND 56 DEGREES IN UTAH. AND GREEN COUNTY. IT’S CLEAR OVERHEAD. SO THE RADAR IS CLEAR AROUND HERE RIGHT NOW, BUT WE’RE WATCHING MOISTURE COME TO THE NORTH. SOME HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS WAY UP TO OUR NORTH INTO SOUTHERN NEBRASKA TONIGHT, RIGHT ON THE LEADING EDGE OF THIS RETURN FLOW. THE RETURN FLOW IS WHAT HAPPENS ON THE WESTERN SIDE OF AN AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE. THE CLOCKWISE CIRCULATION AROUND THAT DRAGS DRY IN FROM THE NORTH, BUT IT ALSO HELPS TO PUMP THE MOISTURE BACK FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO. SO THE FARTHER THAT MOVES AWAY FROM US, THE MORE WE GET ON THAT REAR SIDE OF THE SYSTEM. AND IT HELPS TO REALLY ADD A LOT OF HUMIDITY TO THE AIR. AND THAT’S WHAT’S GOING TO FUEL SOME THUNDERSTORMS WEST OF US ON FRIDAY. A COUPLE OF THEM COULD BE PRETTY STRONG IN MISSISSIPPI, ARKANSAS, LOUISIANA, BY THE TIME THEY GET TO US. WE JUST DON’T HAVE THE FUEL THAT WE NEED FOR INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS. SO WHAT WE’RE GOING TO DEAL WITH IS MAINLY JUST SOME RAIN AND A LITTLE OCCASIONAL LIGHTNING AND THUNDER. MOST OF THIS OUT OF HERE BY MIDDAY SATURDAY. AND THEN WE’RE STARTING TO SEE THINGS COOL DOWN TO DRY OUT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING. AND SPEAKING OF COOL, THERE’S THAT RETURN FLOW. WELL, HERE COMES A RETURN FROM CANADA YET AGAIN. ANOTHER BLAST OF CHILLY AIR WILL SET IN HERE FOR SUNDAY AND MONDAY AND THAT’LL KEEP THINGS A LITTLE COOL GOING INTO THE FIRST PART OF NEXT WEEK AS WELL. SO COOL AGAIN TONIGHT IN THE FIFTIES WILL BE AT 84 DEGREES TOMORROW AFTERNOON. LOOKING FOR SOME SUNSHINE ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. HIGHS IN THE MIDDLE EIGHTIES OVERNIGHT, LOW TEMPERATURES DOWN IN THE FIFTIES. RAIN IN A FEW STORMS AROUND FRIDAY NIGHT, SATURDAY MORNING. SUNDAY LOOKS DRY, BUT COOL. AND THEN HOW ABOUT SOME CHILLY MORNINGS EARLY NEXT WEEK? LOWS IN THE THIRTIES, DAYTIME HIGHS IN THE UPPER SIXTIES AND SEVENTIES WHICH IS WELL BELOW NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. ANOTHER TEAM IN THE MAGIC CITY CHASING A CHAMPIONSHIP. WE’RE GOING TO HAVE MORE ON THE BI
