Alabama search and rescue teams return home
Search and rescue crews from cities in Alabama have returned home.The Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service mentioned in a social media post that Alabama Task Force 2 has completed service in North Carolina and has demobilized.The BFRS stated Saturday morning task force members left for Alabama from Buncombe County, North Carolina, after helping in the post-Hurricane Helene recovery efforts.Just before 7 p.m. Oct. 5, the BFRS posted on social media that all task force members have returned safety to Alabama.The Alabama Task Force 2 has members from the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service, Vestavia Hills Fire Department, Calera Fire Department, Hoover Fire Department, Mountain Brook Fire Department and Prattville Fire Department.Stay up-to-date: The latest headlines and weather from WVTM 13
