JON PAEPCKE SPENT ALL DAY IN COURT. AND JUST HOW MANY INDICTMENTS ARE WE TALKING ABOUT FOR MCDANIEL? JOHN? WELL, GUY 37. IN ALL, THOSE INCLUDE CAPITAL MURDER CHARGES AND TWO MASS SHOOTINGS, THREE OTHER HOMICIDES IN THE NONFATAL SHOOTING OF 27 SURVIVORS TODAY. HE WAS IN COURT FOR HIS ARRAIGNMENT, ALONG WITH FIVE OTHER CO-DEFENDANTS AND FOUR DIFFERENT FATAL SHOOTING CASES. MCDANIEL IS THE SOLE SUSPECT CHARGED IN THE FIVE POINT SOUTH SHOOTING OUTSIDE THE FORMER HUSH LOUNGE AND ONE OF TWO ACCUSED WITH KILLING FOUR AT THE TRENDSETTERS VENUE IN NORTH BIRMINGHAM TWO MONTHS EARLIER. DURING MCDANIEL’S VERY BRIEF ARRAIGNMENT, HE DID NOT ENTER A PLEA, SINCE THE JUDGE MUST APPOINT A NEW ATTORNEY DUE TO A CONFLICT OF INTEREST. THERE WERE FIVE OTHER CO-DEFENDANTS IN THE SAME COURTROOM TODAY, ALL OF WHICH CHARGED IN DIFFERENT MURDER CASES, WITH DAMIEN MCDANIEL. DARIUS WOODS IS ACCUSED IN TWO MURDER CASES, WHILE DEMARCO BECK, NIKON LAWLER, LARRY ROLLINS AND ZACHARY HOLMES ARE LINKED WITH MCDANIEL IN A SEPARATE KILLING. ALL FIVE PLEADED NOT GUILTY AND THE DA’S OFFICE SAID THEY ARE SEEKING THE DEATH PENALTY AGAINST ALL OF THEM. Five shooting suspects could face the death penalty in Alabama.

Several suspects, including ones connected to mass shootings, were in court Tuesday.

Damien McDaniels is accused of murdering 11 people, including two mass shootings in Birmingham. While capital murder charges mean the death penalty can be sought, it was not discussed in the courtoom. McDaniels changed attorneys and did not plea.

Case one

Ny'Quan Lollar is charged with capital murder in connection to Jamarcus McIntyre's death on Sept. 22 in South East Lake. Lollar pleaded not guilty.

The judge set a pre-trial hearing for March 11 at 11 a.m.

Case two

Hatarius Woods is charged in the murder of Charlie Moore and the quadruple murder at a birthday party at the Trendsetters venue in July. Woods pleaded not guilty.

The judge will set a pre-trial date at a later time.

Case three

Larry Rollins is another one of the five shooting suspects facing charges for the death of Jamarcus McIntyre. He pleaded not guilty with a pre-trial hearing date to be set at a later time.

Case four

Dmarco Beck is charged with capital murder in the death of Jamarcus McIntyre. He pleaded not guilty. His pre-trial hearing will be set at a later date.

Case five

Zachary Holmes is also charged with capital murder in the death of Jamarcus McIntyre. He pleaded not guilty.
