'Miracles happen': Anne Hathaway confirms ‘Princess Diaries 3’

Let's go back to 2001. You have been working for *** while since you were 13, you've been on *** TV series. Um and then The Princess Diaries sort of changed everything. What do you remember about about making that movie getting the call? Getting just getting the script. You got to audition for this. It just had that feeling. It was just I touched it and it was like electric, oh my gosh and julie Andrews is in it. Okay, okay, focus, focus, focus. Meeting Gary Marshall. Pretty Woman was my favorite movie growing up. I get to meet the director of that. How extraordinary. And then oh gosh and then getting to make it and be on set every day and just like it to give julie Andrews *** hug every day. That part was also very very very magical and then it came out and it was received that part even by the way was magical. Um It just felt like this dream coming true and then I when wanted to go to audition for this drama drama, that's *** good part. I can't wait to be seen for that. What? They won't see me, why won't they see me? Because I'm because I don't think I can do it. Why can't they can't audition for it? So they don't think I'm right, why don't they think I'm right for it because I'm the princess. Oh okay. How am I gonna do this? So that that's when it started to get *** little bit stressful was how how do I honor this thing that has been my breakthrough while also live my dream, which is to be an actress, which is to actually have no box, you know, which is to have no type, which is to have no thing that I do, I want to because I want to be able to do it all. Um so that took, that took it with some navigating and I think in navigating that it kind of kept the fame thing um pretty low key for *** while, but but in full candor, it was, it was confusing. Bill Murray has *** great quote about it. He said when you get famous, everybody gets *** pass for the first few years to be an ***, it's *** confusing thing to figure out, but then after that you have to figure it out, so, and I kind of I realized that so now I just have *** really light relationship with it now, you know, it's um I'm trying to I live my life as though I'd won the lottery, you know, not as though I was famous
