Annual Valentine's Day card drive starts at Children's of Alabama

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Children's of Alabama announced it is giving people the opportunity to spread Valentine's Day cheer to their patients.

The public can send free greeting cards to patients at Children's of Alabama as a part of the hospital's annual Valentine's Day card drive from Saturday through Feb. 14. Hospital staff will distribute the cards on Valentine's Day.

Those interested in sending cards can visit the Children's of Alabama website and pick one of three greeting card designs.

Spire is sponsoring the card drive. Throughout the course of the card drive, Spire will match donations made by donors up to $5,000.

Because of infection prevention protocols, Children's of Alabama cannot accept any in-person gift donations, handmade cards, food or candy, stuffed animals, toys depicting violence, religious items, crocheted/knit items or gently used homemade items.
