Athletic apparel retailer Lululemon to expand footprint in Metairie

Lakeside Shopping Center plans to relocate and expand Lululemon, a Canada-based athletic apparel retailer.

The new store is set to open in late 2023 and will be located next to Apple in the Macy’s wing of the mall, according to a news release.

It will feature over 6,200 square feet of space, doubling the size of its previous space in the mall.

The brand is known for its technical athletic apparel for yoga, training, and running. It’s designed for men and women.
“Lululemon’s new store concept will offer shoppers transformative products and experiences that build meaningful connections and unlock greater potential and wellbeing for all,” the news release reads. “The new retail space at Lakeside Shopping Center will carry Lululemon’s branded running shoes for women. These new footwear styles are exclusively offered in select stores across North America, United Kingdom and China.”
Founded in 1998 as a yoga apparel retailer in Vancouver, Lululemon now has more than 430 Lululemon retail stores in the U.S. and about 80 stores in Canada.

With over 1.2 million square feet of retail space, Lakeside Shopping Center has been in operation for over six decades.
