Birmingham Fire and Rescue was on the scene of an apartment fire in the South East Lake neighborhood Friday.It started around 10 a.m. in a 2-story brick duplex building in the 7700 block of 5th Ave. South off Rugby Ave.Firefighters performed an offensive attack inside the building and were able to get the fire under control, according to the fire department.Two to three families were displaced.
