Birmingham police ask for help solving Ensley double homicide cold case

Birmingham police are asking for the public to help with information about a shooting that left two men dead in the Ensley area three years ago.On Monday, Nov. 23, 2020, Darnell Ogletree, 22, and Jonathan Jackson, 48, were found shot at 2010 48th Place Southwest.When officers responded just after 3 a.m. to a ShotSpotter call, they found Ogletree lying on the ground next to a car and Jackson unresponsive in the driver’s seat.Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded and pronounced both men dead at the scene.Details are limited in this case, and there are no suspects in custody, according to police.Anyone with information is urged to contact the BPD homicide division at 205-254-1764 or CrimeStoppers at 205-254-7777. CrimeStoppers tips are anonymous and there may be a $5,000 cash reward.
