Birmingham selected to host upcoming NCAA tournament

More NCAA basketball tournament games are coming to Birmingham.According to a news release, the National Collegiate Athletic Association announced Oct. 2 that the Southeastern Conference and the city of Birmingham will host the 2028 Division I Men's Basketball first and second rounds.The games will be played at Legacy Arena between March 16-19, 2028."The Southeastern Conference will be proud to host the 2028 Division I Men's Basketball First and Second Rounds and bring the best in men's basketball to the city of Birmingham," said SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey.Event management and creative agency Knight Eady is a partner with the SEC to host this upcoming event and is looking forward to another basketball tournament next year."We saw sell out crowds when we hosted the 2023 NCAA Men's March Madness First and Second Rounds and expect to see that in 2025 when we host the NCAA Women's March Madness Regional.
