Birmingham shooting leaves young man dead

A young man is dead in what investigators believe was a targeted shooting, the suspect or suspects are still on the run.Officer Truman Fitzgerald with the Birmingham Police Department said officers were called to a person shot on 33rd Place North around 8:50 Thursday night. Fitzgerald said when officers got to the scene, they were met with a large amount of shell casings but the victim was nowhere to be found.Officers later learned a community member drove the victim to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.The police department identified the victim as Adrien Harris, 18, of Birmingham.According to Fitzgerald, investigators believe the suspect approached the victim and began shooting.Fitzgerald said it's not known how many people are responsible for the shooting and that detectives are investigating this as if there could be multiple shooters.Deep dive: WVTM 13 Investigates
