Body found on side of road in Jefferson County

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a death after a body was discovered on the side of a road Sunday morning.Stay up-to-date: The latest headlines and weather from WVTM 13 At around 6:40 a.m. Birmingham Fire and Rescue crews located a body on the side of the road in the 200 block of Quebec Drive in unincorporated Jefferson County between the Wylam and McDonald Chapel communities. Sheriff's deputies were called to the scene and saw what appeared to be a man's body.They did not see any obvious signs of trauma.The body was taken to the Jefferson County Coroner's Office, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the person's identity and cause and manner of death.
