Colin Jost Shares Scarlett Johannson’s Reaction to NSFW Saturday Night Live Jokes About Her
Live from New York, it’s Scarlett Johansson’s reaction to her husband’s raunchy joke.
Colin jost made waves in December after a joke swap with Saturday Night Live Weekend Update cohost Michael Che led to him to making a joke about his wife's private parts.
And the 42-year-old not only revealed how his wife of 4 years felt, but the reaction from people in general has generated a lot of heat.
“I’m in trouble I think with a lot of people,” Colin told Jimmy Fallon during The Tonight Show Jan. 20. “Scarlett was genuinely so shocked.”
“I was obviously surprised by everything,” he continued, “but they gave her a heads up and they were like ‘Hey would you be okay if Michael made kind of a little vagina joke at some point?’ and she’s like, ‘Sure, whatever I’m open to it.’”
And his wife—who was backstage watching the moment—was truly shocked when he delivered the joke.
“I didn’t know where it was going,” the comedian stressed. “The graphic came up for Arby’s and so Scarlett is backstage like, ‘Oh my god, that’s what it is.’”
As for the joke in question?
"Costco has removed the roast beef sandwich from its menu," Colin said to the camera during the segment of the NBC comedy series. "But I ain't trippin'. I've been eating roast beef every night since my wife had the kid."

The camera quickly turned to Scarlett—who shares son Cosmo, 3, with Colin and is also a mom to daughter Rose, 10, from her previous marriage to Romain Dauriac, —as she mouthed “Oh my God.”
"No, no, I'm just playin', baby," Colin continued, reading the joke from the teleprompter and laughing. "You know I don't go downtown."
Again, the camera panned to the Black Widow actress who laughed and audibly gasped at the final punchline.
But while neither she nor Colin were prepared for the full extent of the joke in advance Scarlett has previously shared insight into how she and the writer collaborate together. In fact, she’s even a sounding board when he’s working on material.
"I'll often be like, 'Well, that's too much,' and that's the one that gets the biggest laugh," she told E! News said in December 2023, adding that she "couldn't" imagine being able to punch up Colin's jokes. "His brain is so primed for that."
