A Cottondale man whose body was found shot during a Birmingham house fire has been identified.

Crews with the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene of a house fire in the 4400 block of Old Lewisburg Road just after 7 p.m. on Monday, May 22.

Inside, firefighters located the body of a man, which has now been identified as 25-year-old Rodney Maurice Walker, Jr. of Cottondale, according to the Jefferson County coroner.
