Alabama's Jalen Milroe has proved himself to be a dual-threat quarterback in more ways than one this week, earning two national awards for his exploits both on the field and in the classroom.On Tuesday, the university announced that Milroe had been named the winner of the 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy, which is annually awarded to a student-athlete known for their academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.Milroe becomes just the second player in Alabama history to be honored with this award, following Barret Jones in 2012. He will receive a $25,000 postgraduate scholarship from the National Football Foundation alongside the trophy.Two days after winning the Campbell trophy, Milroe was named the first-ever Alabama player to win the Pop Warner Little Scholars College Football Award, which also recognizes exemplary student-athletes.Some of Milroe's achievements that went towards being selected for these two awards include: Totaled 77 total touchdowns at Alabama, managing 5,824 yards and 44 touchdowns through the air in addition to rushing for 1,570 yards and 33 scores Graduated cum laude in December 2023 with a 3.52 grade-point average and will complete his master’s degree in sport management this month Earned multiple selections to the President’s List and Dean’s List numerous at the Capstone A three-time SEC Academic Honor Roll representative Named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District TeamMilroe announced Thursday morning that he will be playing in the ReliaQuest Bowl against Michigan on Dec. 31.While he said he has not decided on his future with the team for next year, he made it clear he wants to finish "with his brothers" just as they started.
