Hundreds of people celebrated the 400th anniversary of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, in style on Wednesday night.About 900 people attended the Street.life! 400 dinner party on the streets of downtown Portsmouth. The party was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but rain pushed the event to Wednesday.Tables and chairs lined Congress Street through the heart of the city. Those in attendance reserved their seat ahead of time and enjoyed a cocktail reception and a dinner, which included lobster, chicken, corn and “historically inspired” Portsmouth orange cake with a prosecco toast. Tom Bergeron, the former host of “Dancing With The Stars” and “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” who worked as a radio DJ in Portsmouth early in his career, spoke at the dinner.
