Driver killed in rollover wreck in north Alabama

A Decatur man was killed in a car wreck Friday night, local police reported.

Mason Smith, 32, was the sole occupant of the vehicle that rolled over on the 5300 block of Danville Road in Decatur at 10 p.m., a city police spokeswoman said in an email to news reporters.

Smith succumbed to his injuries after emergency workers took him to the hospital, according to Irene Cardenes-Martinez, the police spokeswoman.

Police continue to investigate the wreck.
