Drying out tonight with slightly lower humidity Sunday
EUROPE. EXCLUSIVE LIVE RADAR TRACKING STORMS. SO YOU’LL KNOW. FIRST, THIS IS WVTM 13. WEATHER TODAY WAS AN IMPACT DAY. SOME SHOWERS, A FEW THUNDERSTORMS ASSOCIATED WITH A COLD FRONT MOVING ACROSS THE STATE. THAT’S ALL DONE WITH THE RAIN GONE. CLOUDY SKIES OVERHEAD. REGIONS FIELD DOWNTOWN BIRMINGHAM JUST WRAPPED UP THE FIREWORKS SHOW ABOUT TEN, 15 MINUTES AGO. THEY’RE DOWNTOWN. THERE’S A LOOK AT THE WVTM 13 LIVE DOPPLER SHOWING THAT NO RAIN IS FALLING RIGHT NOW ANYWHERE ACROSS CENTRAL ALABAMA. THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS, WHAT’S LEFT OF THEM PUSHING DOWN TO THE SOUTH, AGAIN, ASSOCIATED WITH THAT FRONTAL BOUNDARY. WE TALK COLD FRONT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR DOESN’T NECESSARILY MEAN THAT IT’S GOING TO GET COLDER, BUT CERTAINLY SOME LOWER HUMIDITY, AT LEAST TEMPORARILY, MOVING IN FOR OUR SUNDAY TEMPERATURES OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW, NOT BAD. COMFORTABLE 68 AND GETS IN A LITTLE COOLER TO THE NORTH, 64 IN COLEMAN, 69 DEGREES IN BIRMINGHAM AND TUSCALOOSA, CHECKING IN AT 72. IN CLANTON. BUT FIRST THING TOMORROW MORNING, MANY SPOTS WILL BE DOWN INTO THE LOW 60S. AND THOSE OF US IN NORTH ALABAMA WILL GET DOWN TO THE MID TO UPPER 50. SO IT’S GOING TO FEEL MUCH NICER TO BEGIN OUR SUNDAY TOMORROW AFTERNOON. EVEN WITH HIGHS IN THE LOW 80S, THAT LOWER HUMIDITY MAKING THINGS FEEL PRETTY NICE OVERALL. PRETTY NICE. OUTDOOR WEATHER DAY, DRY WEATHER UNDER PARTLY SUNNY SKIES AND CHECK THIS OUT. LOW TEMPERATURES ACTUALLY GETTING DOWN BACK CLOSER TO NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF THE YEAR. IT’S JUST BEEN SO WARM, SO MUGGY AND WELL WET THE LAST SEVERAL DAYS THAT IT’S NICE TO SEE THESE LOW TEMPERATURES CREEP BACK DOWN INTO THE LOWER 60S. INSTEAD OF THE UPPER 60S OR LOW 70S LIKE WE’VE SEEN FOR SOME MORNINGS OVER THE PAST WEEK. I LOOK AT OUR FORECAST MODEL HERE, ALL THAT RAIN CONTINUES TO PUSH DOWN TO THE SOUTH AND EAST. IT’S A DRY WEATHER DAY FOR TOMORROW. A BIT OF A NORTHEAST BREEZE IN PLACE AROUND 5 TO 10 MILES AN HOUR. NOTHING TO EXTREME MOISTURE, THOUGH, DOES QUICKLY RETURN, AT LEAST TEMPORARILY, ON MONDAY. SO FOR MONDAY AFTERNOON, A SETUP WHERE WE SEE THOSE WIDELY SCATTERED MAINLY AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING POP UP SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS, STORMS, RAIN CHANCES UP TO 50% FOR MONDAY. THEY’LL BE OUR BEST CHANCE FOR RAIN NEXT WEEK. LOWER RAIN CHANCES TUESDAY AND THEN MOST OF US DRY WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY AND HEADING INTO FRIDAY. HERE’S A LOOK AT OUR SEVEN DAY FORECAST WHERE WE SEE SOME OF THOSE SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE BOTH MONDAY AND AGAIN ON TUESDAY, TO A LESSER DEGREE. HIGHS BACK INTO THE 80S, WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY, WE’RE WARMING UP HUMIDITY RETURNING, BUT MOSTLY DRY AS WE HEA

Drying out tonight with slightly lower humidity Sunday
A cold front driers us out tonight. It will feel a little less humid Sunday with dry weather expected.Check the video forecast for the latest.THIS EVENINGA cold front brought a few showers and a couple of storms to central Alabama Saturday afternoon and evening. Thankfully, none of the storms turned severe. As we dry out tonight, some slightly lower humidity begins to work in to central Alabama. Overnight low temperatures will drop into the lower 60's, with 50's possible north of I-20. Skies will remain mostly cloudy with a gentle breeze overnight.DRIER ON SUNDAYSunday stays dry for much of central Alabama. That lower humidity will make things feel nice for the second half of the weekend. Even with highs in the lower 80's Sunday afternoon, it will not feel too awful! Skies will be partly sunny. Great weather to spend some times outdoors!UNSETTLED PATTERN, MORE SHOWERS COMINGDays ago, it appeared next week would be dry. Now, it appears we will have some drier days and wetter days but no clear-cut break from a daily chance of some showers. What changed? A slight shift in the forecast position of a ‘ridge’ (think high pressure, downward motion in the atmosphere suppressing cloud/rain development) steers a slow-moving upper air disturbance over Alabama on Monday and Tuesday. The eventual path of that disturbance determines how much rain we get. Monday looks rather wet at this point with widespread showers moving in during the afternoon and evening. Monday night into Tuesday morning features a stripe of heavier rain over eastern Alabama, and then as the disturbance slowly moves away, the chance of rain decreases to just isolated, pop-up, heat-of-the-day, afternoon showers and storms from Wednesday to Friday. So no, there’s no single day next week that looks 100% guaranteed to be dry; however, we do see more sun and less rain later in the week.CLICK TO SEE THE 7-DAY FORECAST—STAY WEATHER AWAREGet the free WVTM 13 app and turn on the alerts for the latest weather updates. For the latest Birmingham weather information and central Alabama's certified most accurate forecast, watch WVTM 13 News.Current Weather ConditionsHourly Forecast | 10-Day ForecastInteractive RadarBirmingham SkycamsLive Doppler RadarSign Up For Email Weather AlertsDownload the WVTM 13 AppDon't forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

UNSETTLED PATTERN, MORE SHOWERS COMING
Days ago, it appeared next week would be dry.
So no, there’s no single day next week that looks 100% guaranteed to be dry; however, we do see more sun and less rain later in the week.
