A ruling was made regarding a homicide investigation in Birmingham back in September.The Birmingham Police Department reported Tremayne Long, 37, of Bessemer, was found suffering from a gunshot wound at a package store on 3rd Avenue West about 12:40 a.m. Sept. 20.Long later died at a hospital.Investigators believed that Long was in a physical fight with another man outside the store, when a shot was fired.The BPD reported Oct. 28 that the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office ruled the actions justifiable and was reclassified from a homicide investigation to a justified death investigation.Police said there have been 120 homicides in Birmingham so far in 2024. >> WVTM 13 ON-THE-GO: Download our app for free
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
A ruling was made regarding a homicide investigation in Birmingham back in September.
The Birmingham Police Department reported Tremayne Long, 37, of Bessemer, was found suffering from a gunshot wound at a package store on 3rd Avenue West about 12:40 a.m. Sept. 20.
Long later died at a hospital.
Investigators believed that Long was in a physical fight with another man outside the store, when a shot was fired.
