Fire heavily damages Tull Chemical Company in Oxford

Firefighters remained on the scene Saturday, monitoring after a fire at the Tull Chemical Company in Oxford.The fire started around 11:14 p.m. Friday night at the business located at 130 Burton St., according to the fire department.There were no injuries or fatalities. At least one building is a total loss.The water runoff was contained in the property and kept out of Snow Creek.The property is still being monitored by the Oxford Fire Department, and the Environmental Protection Agency has taken the lead on clean-up at the site. Anniston Fire Department, Oxford Health Systems Paramedics, Oxford Police Department , Calhoun County Emergency Management Agency, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Alabama Department of Environmental Management assisted on the scene.The EPA is handling cleanup of the site.>> WVTM 13 ON-THE-GO: Download our app for free
