Firefighter injured battling wildfire in Blount County
A firefighter was injured while at the site of a wildfire near Oneonta in Blount County Tuesday.The blaze apparently broke out early in the afternoon in a subdivision near the Palisades Park area, said the Oneonta Public Safety Director.The Oneonta Fire Department responded and learned embers from an outdoor recreational pit escaped and caused a fire.The Blount County Sheriff's Office said the fire was contained quickly.The sheriff's office said one firefighter suffered a minor leg injury while working at the fire scene.No one else was injured.The Oneonta Public Safety Director said a total of three acres burned.Your neighborhood: Local coverage from WVTM 13
