Former teacher at Winston County school charged with sex crimes

WINSTON COUNTY, Ala. —

A man who taught and coached at a school in Winston County was arrested.

Jail records from the Marion County Jail show Alexis Rodriguez, 29, of Jasper, was charged with a school employee sex act and rape.

The superintendent of Winston County Schools Greg Pendley confirmed that Rodriguez was a social studies teacher and coach.

Superintendent Pendley said Rodriguez voluntarily resigned from his position in July and is no longer with the school system.
