The bright crater Aristarchus lies on a shallow volcanic plateau in the Oceanus Procellarum on the moon. Vallis Schröteri, a lava channel, snakes across the plateau for 185 km. Lunar faults, wrinkle ridges and grey rays of ejecta complete this lunar landscape.
