Game of the Week: Hewitt-Trussville prepares to face Pinson Valley

Hewitt-Trussville High School is preparing to face Pinson Valley High School in WVTM 13's Game of the Week. Friday morning, the Huskies marching band and cheerleaders appeared on WVTM 13 to show how they are preparing for the big game. This will be the first game for Hewitt-Trussville's marching band to feature its full halftime show. This season's show is called "Machine Awakens" and features a variety of traditional and contemporary pieces. "The theme is really great because it shows all the music that we’re playing," senior saxophonist Echo Burroughs explained. "We’re playing these wonderful futuristic beats by Tron, and we have these old-school beats by 'Cowboy Bebop,' that show. And then we have 'What Was I Made For' by Billie Eilish. And then we have 'Invention 13' by Bach."The Hewitt-Trussville cheerleaders have been working hard preparing for football games and their upcoming competition season. The team saw a lot of success last year, and they're hoping to continue that success this year. "We placed top 10 at nationals last year, and we're very excited to go back to nationals and hopefully bring home the gold this year," said Amadora Gentile, one of the captains of the Hewitt-Trussville cheer squad. Hewitt-Trussville kicks off at Pinson Valley Friday night at 7 p.m.
