Groundbreaking ceremony held at JSU for new student, football buildings

A groundbreaking ceremony was held to officially kick off the construction of new buildings at Jacksonville State University.According to information from JSU, alumni and the community gathered to see the start of the construction of three new buildings April 18.The projects include a new residence hall, dining hall and football complex."Jacksonville State is experiencing unprecedented growth," JSU president Dr. Don Killingsworth told the crowd. "With this growth comes the need to invest in the future of the university. Our students need places to live, enjoy their meals and take part in campus life."Construction is now underway and all buildings are expected to be complete by the end of 2024.
