Guthrie’s, Alabama’s original chicken finger joint is opening a new location in Hoover.
Located a stone throw away from the Riverchase Galleria and the incoming Trader Joe’s, a new Guthrie’s is moving into the former Steak N’ Shake at 1817 Montgomery Highway.
Harbert Retail’s Casey Howard represented Guthrie’s in the 3,900 square foot lease deal.
Guthrie’s, a chicken fingers original
Back in 1978, Guthrie’s was established as one of the first restaurant’s in America to center its menu solely around chicken fingers. Today, the Alabama-based company operates 48 locations across the nation, Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Mississippi, Nevada, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia.
Guthrie’s: 3rd most popular fried chicken chain in U.S.
How popular is Guthrie’s? Just ask the readers of USA Today. In 2024, the national publication named Guthrie’s the 3rd Best Fast Food Fried Chicken chain in the U.S.
Presently, there are now plans for two locations on Highway 31 between Vestavia and Hoover. In July, it was announced the construction of the chicken joint would commence at the site of the former Hardees near the Vestavia Bowl.
