Thompson trounced Opelika, holding their spot as the top team in 7A, while Hoover was beaten at home by the Auburn Tigers (not those Auburn Tigers). Hewitt-Trussville fell to Central's Red Devils, but despite the loss, Huskie's QB Peyton Floyd took home WVTM 13's inaugural Play of the Week with an electric hail-mary pass. Last week's Game of the Week pitted Pell City against Moody's Blue Devils in a gritty game that marked Hoover legend Rush Probst's return to coaching in Alabama. Despite Probst's best efforts, the Panthers couldn't hold it together, losing 24-28.This week, Midfield's Patriots attempt to slay the Wenonah Dragons, who previously devoured Sylacauga 7-38. Friday night football has officially returned to Alabama, bringing with it WVTM 13's High School Huddle: your new home for all of the action under the lights.
