Bridge installation work is set to begin and it will impact drivers on Highway 31 in Vestavia Hills.According to information from the city, crews will temporarily close all lanes of Highway 31 Sunday at 10:30 p.m.The closure is located at Waldridge Road and Merryvale Road to allow for the installation of a pedestrian bridge over all lanes.A detour route will be marked for drivers and police will be on-site to redirect traffic.Work crews may begin staging for the closure as early as 9 p.m. June 22.All lanes are expected to reopen by 6 a.m. June 23.WVTM 13 On The Go: Download our app for free
