Mindy Kaling Reacts to Viral Moment From Meghan Markle’s Netflix Show Appearance
A Hooters staffer is going viral for sharing how pregnancy is affecting her line of work.
Gabrielle Harlan—a waitress at the restaurant chain who is expecting with her first baby—recently shed light on how her growing bump has impacted the tips she receives on the job. In fact, she said her tips have gone up “a lot higher” since her belly began showing.
“I had a guy tell me I was working harder than anyone he has seen pregnant,” she wrote in the comments of her TikTok video, explaining that he tipped “over 50 percent” even though she was doing “the bare min.”
As Harlan put it, “All I did was make sure his drink was never empty.”
As for her work attire, Harlan traded in Hooters’ iconic white tee and orange shorts for a low-cut black T-shirt and matching shorts—also provided by the restaurant—when she hit 23 weeks in her pregnancy. But she wasn’t the only staffer making use of the maternity wear.
“There are three of us right now,” Harlan revealed in another comment, “and three more postpartum by about 5-6 months.”

Modeling her new uniform, she added, “They are really big on supporting women here at Hooters.”
The outfit update is part of what Hooters has described as a “more accommodating and inclusive image policy.”
“As we continue to listen and update the image of the Hooters Girls, we are clarifying that they have the option to choose from traditional uniforms or the new ones,” the company wrote in a statement on its website. “They can determine which style of shorts best fits their body style and personal image.”
