How to watch: UAB Blazers at NC A&T Aggies Thursday

Welcome to the UAB football facility, Ryan. He like car and carry football is upon us. The UAB Blazers with the new head coach in Trent Dilfer. Yeah, *** lot of excitement. *** lot of excitement obviously with him and moving into the American athletic conference. So there was *** lot to talk about with the coach. *** lot of news for the Blazers, *** new head coach, *** new conference and *** new mindset going into 2023. The jump to the American for UAB is at *** time where there's so much change for college football. You guys, I feel like landed in my opinion at the right place at the right time. I think the USA they outgrow in the USA. I think the American has way more to offer. Now, watching the PAC 12 disintegrate, we really are *** power five conference and something immediately refreshing that Dilfer has brought to college football is not shying away from any mic and with your unique perspective and one being spending time at ESPN knowing how to be comfortable on *** mic. You don't always see that with coaches and you don't always see that in college football. What has been the reception for? How Candid you've been in these early press conferences? Yeah, I've heard the word bold. Like, and I'm like, I don't really think I'm being bold. Candid. Candid, I think is correct. Transparent. So I think what, when you get just truth, like this is no, this is actually what we're doing, what you're not supposed to be telling us that. Why, like, telling me how we're doing things. You can disagree. You can agree. You fight over the water cooler. I don't really care. That's called bold. Like I'm just telling you the truth. Like when Nick gets up, I think Nick is brilliant in front of the camera because he gets up and he says, no, this is what I'm teaching my kids. You might not be teaching your kids this, this is what I'm teaching my kids. This is why we win and win and win and win. That's why we keep pumping kids in the NFL because we're teaching the right stuff. You might think culturally it's inappropriate. But in this building, Nick's building, this is how you get excellent, not shying away from any conversation and eager about this new era of college football. All you hear is who is us? This is so hard. Oh My gosh. How do we deal with all this? And I'm looking back on, oh, we're kicking your butts because we roll in going. How awesome is this nil portal challenges? Give it to me when you are in *** new conference, you also have to get new uniforms as well. The Blazers have *** new fit in 2023 when they take the field. New Drip also comes with *** purpose as Dilfer and his staff are focused on making *** difference in the community with certain uniform combos representing something bigger. So we're dedicating three home jerseys, we'll wear them twice each, so six games twice each and each game represents something bigger than ourselves and our kids are getting that. So, Carrie *** lot of fun today talking to you head football coach, Trent Dilford, the ESPN background makes it pretty easy for him in front of the game. Pretty comfortable on the microphone. Maybe our jobs are in jeopardy. Hopefully not, but we enjoyed our time today. Looking forward to the Blazers kicking off their season and that wraps it up here at the UAB football facility.
