Magicians from across the globe plan to converge on New Orleans for their annual convention from July 23-26.

The Society of American Magicians Annual Convention will take place at Harrah’s, bringing with it “mesmerizing illusions and captivating entertainers,” according to a news release.

“The multi-day event is set to be a grand celebration of magic, showcasing performances by world-renowned magicians in a variety of formats, including stage shows, close-up performances, magic lectures, and special events,” the news release reads. “Attendees can indulge in a thrilling contest highlighting close-up magic acts and another one that brings the best of stage performers to the forefront. For those eager to delve into the realm of magic, exhibitors will be present, offering a wide array of magic props, books, videos, publications, collectibles, and items related to magic and other variety arts.”

The Gala stage shows are aimed to entertain conventioneers and the general public. Spectators will have the opportunity to witness magical acts. In addition, the “Stars of Tomorrow” show will spotlight the most exceptional talents under 17 from around the world.

Tickets for all public shows are available through Eventbrite.

“This convention is not only an opportunity for magicians to come together, share their craft, and bond, but also a chance for audiences beyond the magic community to experience and relish the art of magic,” Mark Weidhaas, SAM past national president and convention producer, said in the news release.

The Society of American Magicians was established in 1902 in New York City.
