IMPACT DAY: Low threat of a strong storm through the evening

AND IT’S AN IMPACT DAY ACROSS CENTRAL AND NORTH ALABAMA. WE’VE GOT A FRONT MOVING TOWARDS THE STATE, BRINGING US SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS. NOW, THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT THERE ARE NO ACTIVE, SEVERE WARNINGS ACROSS OUR PART OF THE STATE. THESE STORMS ARE BELOW SEVERE LIMITS, ALBEIT THEY ARE PRODUCING SOME GUSTY WINDS AT TIMES UP TO 40MPH AND SOME HEAVY RAIN. YOU DO SEE ONE GREEN POLYGON HERE ON THE SCREEN, AND THAT IS A FLOOD ADVISORY THAT COVERS PARTS OF TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, BIBB COUNTY, SHELBY, JEFFERSON AND THAT IS GOING TO LAST THROUGH 1:15 P.M. WE HAD SOME HEAVY RAIN MOVE THROUGH THIS AREA. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT IT DOES APPEAR SOME OF THAT HEAVIEST RAIN IS STARTING TO MOVE OUT OF THE FLOOD ADVISORY, BUT WE’LL BE MONITORING FOR ANY KIND OF MINOR ROAD FLOODING IN THE COMING HOURS. FROM THAT. SOME HEAVIER RAIN FROM CENTRE TO ROCK RUN AND CHEROKEE COUNTY, ALSO STRETCHING DOWN TO JACKSONVILLE, ANNISTON, MUNFORD TALLADEGA. ONCE AGAIN, I REMIND YOU, THESE ARE PRODUCING HEAVY RAINFALL, BUT THEY ARE BELOW SEVERE LIMITS. WE’VE ALSO GOT A STORM HERE FROM PAYNE LAKE TO GREENSBORO, JUST SOUTH OF HAVANA. I KNOW THIS IS WHERE WE EARLIER HAD A TORNADO WARNING. THIS IS JUST A DOWNPOUR MOVING THROUGH RIGHT NOW. NO SIGNS OF ROTATION WITH THE STORM MOVING THROUGH YOUR AREA AT THIS POINT. AND AS WE LOOK A LITTLE BIT FARTHER OUT HERE, YOU CAN SEE SOME HEAVIER RAIN RIGHT ALONG THE I-85 CORRIDOR NEAR MONTGOMERY. SOME SPOTTY LIGHT SHOWERS OVER CHILTON COUNTY AT THIS POINT. SO WE WILL BE HERE THROUGHOUT THE REST OF THE DAY. TRACKING THE RADAR FOR YOU. WE ARE EXPECTING THESE SHOWERS TO KEEP SHIFTING FROM WEST TO EAST THROUGH THE REST OF THE DAY, AND TIME TO BRING IN METEOROLOGIST BRYLEE BROWN AND BRYLEE. YOU’RE GOING TO WALK US THROUGH WHAT WE CAN EXPECT THROUGH THE REST OF THE DAY. YES. TAYLOR, I WANT TO REITERATE, THIS IS NOT AN ORGANIZED, SEVERE WEATHER DAY. IT’S JUST MESSY OUT THERE. IF YOU DO HAVE TO TRAVEL, TAKE IT EASY. BE CAREFUL. THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK. NOW. THIS IS FROM THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER. THE LATEST ADVISORY, AND IT HAS CLANTON, ROCKFORD, AUBURN, DADEVILLE MONTGOMERY, UNION SPRINGS IN THE YELLOW HERE. THAT’S A LITTLE BIT HIGHER THAN THE LEVEL ONE OUT OF FIVE RISK. I THINK THE ATMOSPHERE IS GOING TO STABILIZE A GOOD BIT ACROSS CENTRAL ALABAMA AS THIS KIND OF LAST BIG BAND OF RAIN WORKS TO THE SOUTH AND EAST. BUT STILL WE WILL BE ON GUARD AND WATCH OUR SOUTHEASTERN COUNTIES. WE COULD HAVE A BRIEF SPIN UP TORNADO AGAIN, AND EVEN SOME OF THOSE STORMS HAVE SOME STRONG, GUSTY WINDS WITH THEM TOO. THIS IS THE FUTURE RADAR GUIDANCE HERE. THIS IS OUR SHORT TERM GUIDANCE. YOU’LL SEE THAT THAT BAND OF RAIN TAYLOR WAS JUST SHOWING YOU ON LIVE RADAR NOW IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO PUSH TO THE EAST AND MOVE SOUTH AND EAST. AND SO THROUGH THE AFTERNOON, THE HEAVIEST RAIN, THE BETTER CHANCE OF A THUNDERSTORM IS GOING TO BE SOUTH AND EAST OF BIRMINGHAM. WE’RE TALKING ABOUT CLANTON ROCKFORD DOWN TO MONTGOMERY AND AUBURN. INTERSTATE 85 AND AREAS TO THE SOUTH. I THINK BY THIS EVENING, A LOT OF US ARE DRY ACROSS CENTRAL ALABAMA. JUST SOME CLOUDS, MAYBE SOME LINGERING SHOWERS. BUT A COLD FRONT IS WORKING DOWN THE STATE. AND BEHIND THIS FRONT WE GET ANOTHER PUSH OF EXTREMELY COLD, DRY AIR. THERE WILL BE A SHARP NORTH WIND TOMORROW. IT WILL BE COLD IN THE MORNINGS. WIND CHILLS, 20S AND 30S 26 CULLMAN 31, BIRMINGHAM. AND THEN THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. WE KEEP THE SHARP NORTH WIND SO IT REMAINS VERY COLD. AND THAT WILL FEEL MUCH DIFFERENT THAN IT DOES TODAY WITH NUMBERS IN THE 40S. THESE ARE WIND CHILLS. OUR HIGH TEMPERATURE CLOSER TO 50 DEGREES TOMORROW. AFTER THAT, MORE SUNSHINE. THURSDAY AND FRIDAY LOOK GOOD. WE START ON A WARMING TREND, WARMER BY THE WEEKEND AND LIKELY SEEI
