Inmate serving life sentence found dead in Alabama prison

An inmate was found dead Thursday at Donaldson Correctional Facility in Bessemer, Alabama.The Jefferson County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Tommy Tunstall, 54Authorities said his cellmate found him unresponsive in their cell at 9:30 a.m. He was pronounced dead at 10 a.m. at the prison.Tunstall was serving a life sentence for robbery 1st degree and theft of property 2nd degree from a 1996 conviction out of Monroe County. The cause and manner of death were to be determined in an autopsy on Friday. Those results have not been released.The Alabama Department of Corrections Law Enforcement Services Division is investigating the death.
