WHEN POSSIBLE. JOINING US NOW, METEOROLOGIST ADRIAN CASTELLANO. YEAH, THE HEAT IS ON AGAIN. YEAH. DOG DAYS OF SUMMER HERE AND REALLY NOT MUCH RELIEF IN THE FORECAST OVER THE NEXT 7 TO 10 DAYS. LET’S GO AND TAKE A LOOK OUTSIDE KIND OF THAT HAZY SUNSHINE OVER DOWNTOWN BIRMINGHAM RIGHT NOW. TEMPERATURE CHECKING IN AT 89 DEGREES. WE WERE AT 90 LAST HOUR, 89. TUSCALOOSA, 89 DEGREES IN CLANTON, 88. GADSDEN, 90, STILL IN ANNISTON. WE’RE ENJOYING, THOUGH, SOME OF THAT DRIER AIR, SLIGHTLY LOWER HUMIDITY AGAIN BY LATE JULY STANDARDS, AT LEAST LOWER HUMIDITY IN PLACE. THAT’S REALLY LIMITING THOSE RAIN CHANCES. THAT BIG RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE ON TOP OF US, 95 TOMORROW AFTERNOON IN HUEYTOWN TUSCALOOSA, 92. CLANTON 92. ANNISTON 93 GADSDEN. SO THESE TEMPERATURES ARE ONLY GOING TO BUILD. THEY’RE ONLY GOING TO INCREASE AS WE GO THROUGH THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. REALLY? RIGHT ON THROUGH THE WEEK AND INTO THE UPCOMING WEEKEND. THAT BIG HEAT RIDGE DOME OF HIGH PRESSURE OUT WEST GOING TO EXPAND, KIND OF COALESCE WITH A SUBTROPICAL RIDGE OUT IN THE ATLANTIC. AND THAT’S GOING TO CREATE THOSE CONDITIONS TO ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO REALLY RISE AS WE GO THROUGH THIS WEEK. SO TOMORROW WE’RE UP TO 95 FOR A HIGH 96, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, 97 DEGREES ON FRIDAY. OBVIOUSLY, THOSE TEMPERATURES RUNNING ABOVE AVERAGE HERE EVEN BY PEAK SUMMER STANDARDS. ANYTIME THIS TIME OF THE YEAR WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE MUCH IN THE WAY OF RAINFALL CHANCES, THOSE TEMPERATURES TYPICALLY ARE GOING TO SOAR. AND THAT’S THE CASE. IN FACT, LOOK AT THURSDAY AFTERNOON AS WE INCREASE THAT HUMIDITY JUST A BIT, THAT FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURE OR HEAT INDEX WILL BEGIN TO CLIMB UP ABOVE 100. SO THAT’S WHAT IT’S GOING TO FEEL LIKE BY THE TIME WE REACH THURSDAY, AT LEAST FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS, WHILE IT’S STILL GOING TO BE HOT, THE HUMIDITY LEVELS STILL A LITTLE LOWER. AND SO IT WON’T FEEL AS AS MUGGY OUT THERE DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS. VERY QUIET WEATHER ALL ACROSS OUR STATE FOR TODAY. SOME CLOUDS AND STORMS UP TO OUR NORTH. SOME SEABREEZE STORMS ONGOING ALONG I-10 IN THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE. THE MOISTURE, IT’S DOWN TO OUR SOUTH. IT’S GOING TO STAY DOWN THERE WITH DRY AIR SHADED IN BLUE OVER US FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. EVENTUALLY, SOME OF THAT MOISTURE TRIES TO RETURN FROM THE SOUTH AND EAST. AS THAT HAPPENS, LATE WEEKEND INTO NEXT WEEKEND, WE’LL SEE AT LEAST A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR A FEW, MAINLY AFTERNOON. AND EVENING POP UP SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. IN THE MEANTIME, THOUGH, NOT MUCH IN THE WAY OF RAIN CHANCES. MAYBE AN ISOLATED STORM TOMORROW AFTERNOON FOR AREAS GENERALLY NORTH AND EAST OF THE BIRMINGHAM METRO. TEMPERATURES CONTINUE TO CLIMB. 96 THURSDAY, 97 FRIDAY, SATURDAY, UPPER 90S TO NEAR 100 SUNDAY AND MONDAY. AGAIN EACH DAY A GOOD AMOUNT OF SUNSHINE AND THOSE SHOWERS AND
