Jefferson County deputy arrested for using position for personal gain

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. —

A Jefferson County sheriff's deputy has been placed on administrative leave following his arrest for the use of his position for personal gain.

Twenty-two-year-old Caleb Jefferson turned himself in to the Jefferson County Jail in Bessemer this week after investigators obtained warrants against him.

It is unclear exactly how Jefferson abused his position; he has since posted bond and been released.
