Lane closures suspended on Alabama interstates until 2025
You won't see lane closures from road work on Alabama's interstates for the rest of the year.The Alabama Department of Transportation said to ensure the safety of travelers and road workers, temporary lane closures are suspended from 6 p.m. Dec. 23 until 11:59 p.m. Jan. 1, 2025."Make sure safety is your top priority this season by ensuring everyone in your vehicle is buckled up," said Allison Green, Drive Safe Alabama coordinator. "In 2023, nearly 55 percent of people who died in crashes on Alabama roads were not wearing a seat belt.
