Lawsuit filed against Hoover school leaders and two former coaches

Legal action has been taken on behalf of two high school students against the Hoover Board of Education and educational leaders and staff.According to a complaint filed in the Jefferson County courts, the adult guardians of the students allege acts of assault, battery, negligence and emotional distress.The complaint says the incidents were captured on videos which showed some football coaches at the time taking part in alleged abusive behavior against the students during a practice in August.Both coaches in question resigned before the season began.The plaintiffs are asking for a total of $30 million in damages.Hoover City Schools responded saying the school system is unable to provide additional information or comment at this time, due to ongoing litigation.Deep dive: WVTM 13 Investigates
