Man facing charges for at least 11 murders in Birmingham mass shootings, homicides

A man is facing charges for at least 11 murders in connection to including two mass shootings and several other homicides.Damien Laron McDaniel II is a suspect in the mass shooting in Five Points South and a second one at an event center. North Birmingham confrontation with policeAt about 8:20 p.m. on Aug, 13, police responded to a stolen vehicle in the housing community known as Vice Hills in North Birmingham. When they got there, an officer heard shots being fired inside an apartment. The officer confronted an armed suspect, according to police. During a confrontation, the officer shot at the suspect, who entered the passenger side of the stolen vehicle and then drove away with another suspect.Officers followed the suspects until they found the vehicle abandoned in the 4100 block of Fairmont Place.Inside the apartment development, officers found 61-year-old Charlie Herbert Moore lying shot and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.604 Bar & LoungeOn Sept. 19 at the 604 Bar & Lounge on 9th Street North, officers entered the bar, where they found 35-year-old Diontranet Tinae Brown suffering from a gunshot wound.She was taken from the scene with life-threatening injuries and later died at UAB Hospital. McDaniel is charged with her murder.Five Points South mass shootingJust a few nights later, on Sept. 21, gunfire erupted outside Hush, a hookah and cigar lounge, killing four people and leaving 17 others injured. McDaniel has been charged with capital murder and 17 counts of attempted murder.South EastlakeThe following night, officers responded to the South Eastlake area in response to a Shot Spotter alert.Officers arriving at the scene found 32-year-old Jamarcus McIntyre lying on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. Birthday party mass shooting at Birmingham event center

On July 13 at a birthday party on Birmingham’s 27th Street North, 14 people were shot.
