IAN AND BRITTANY, JASON, THANKS SO MUCH. AND OUT OF STATE MAN SHOT TO DEATH AT A GARDENDALE HOTEL. HERE’S WHAT WE KNOW. POLICE SAY TWO COWORKERS WERE STAYING AT THE HOTEL ON THOMPSON STREET AND THEY FOUGHT OVERNIGHT. ONE OF THEM PULLED OUT A GUN AND SHOT THE OTHER IN THE PARKING LOT AND THEN TOOK OFF. DETECTIVES SAY THEY GOT CRITICAL INFORMATION ABOUT HIM, CAUGHT UP WITH HIM WITH THE HELP OF TUPELO POLICE. THEY ARE NOT RELEASING THE NAME OF ANYONE INVOLVED UNTIL FAMI

One man is dead, and another is in police custody after a shooting at a Gardendale hotel Monday.Police say it happened around 12:35 a.m. at a hotel in the 800 block of Thompson Street.Two co-workers from another state who were staying at the hotel were involved in a fight when one man shot the other in the parking lot and left.The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released until the family is notified.Gardendale officers and detectives determined the identity of the suspect, and with help from the Tupelo, Mississippi, Police Department, he was apprehended without incident. His name will be released after charges are filed.

GARDENDALE, Ala. —

One man is dead, and another is in police custody after a shooting at a Gardendale hotel Monday.

Police say it happened around 12:35 a.m. at a hotel in the 800 block of Thompson Street.

Two co-workers from another state who were staying at the hotel were involved in a fight when one man shot the other in the parking lot and left.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released until the family is notified.
