A man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for the 2022 murder of a young Hoover woman in her apartment.The Hoover Police Department first launched a homicide probe in January of 2022 after a 25-year-old Hoover woman, Madison Shea Pilkington, was found dead inside her apartment. Police said Pilkington died as a result of an assault. Keith Czeskleba said on Sunday, Jan 30. "He is currently at the Hoover City Jail while detectives obtain formal charges."The next day, police announced that 32-year-old Cortez Lenarde Warren had been charged in connection with Pilkington's death. Warren, of Hoover, was charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence and possession of marijuana. On Wednesday, Circuit Judge Michael Streety sentenced Cortez to 35 years in prison.
