DURING THE SERVICE, STEWART READ QUOTES FROM A LETTER MEADOWS SENT HIM FOLLOWING THAT MEETING, WHERE HE WROTE, I LOVE WORKING FOR THE IRONDALE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND I’M HONORED TO PLAY A SMALL PART IN ITS GROWTH. THE MAYOR WRAPPED UP HIS COMMENTS BY SAYING, I ONLY HAVE SIX WORDS THAT I WOULD LIKE TO SAY TO MARK. WELL DONE, WELL DONE, WELL DONE. MOMENTS LATER, A FELLOW IRONDALE OFFICER REMINDED EVERYONE THAT MEADOWS LOVED TO ASK, NOW WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? AFTER A SETBACK? SO THE OFFICER’S MESSAGE TO MEADOWS FAMILY WAS, HOLD FAST TO THE MEMORIES, HOLD FAST TO YOU KNOW WHAT? HE MADE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY. THE WRECK, WHICH CLAIMED MEADOWS LIFE IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION. BUT STATE TROOPERS TELL US THE DRIVER INVOLVED IS FULLY
