Vestavia Hills native Abbie Stockard was crowned Miss America 2025 on Sunday night in Orlando, Florida.
Alabama’s 4th Miss America
Stockard, who was the reigning Miss Alabama 2024, became the fourth Alabamian to win the 101 year-old pageant.
It has been 20 years since a winner came from the Yellowhammer State.
Past winners include:
- Diedre Downs, Miss America 2005
- Heather Whitestone, Miss America 1995
- Yolande Betbeze, Miss America 1951
Deep Vestavia Hills + Auburn ties

An Auburn University nursing student, Stockard receives a $50,000 scholarship as Miss America.
Another fun fact. According to KSL Sports in Utah, Stockard is the girlfriend of former Auburn basketball player and current Utah Jazz standout Walker Kessler.
