Moody native serving on Navy warship in Pearl Harbor
A native of Moody, Alabama, is proudly serving on one of America's warships in Pearl Harbor. Petty Officer 2nd Class Daniel Davis is a 2015 graduate of Moody High School, according to Navy Outreach. He is serving aboard the USS Wayne E. Meyer, a guided missile destroyer class warship.He says the skills and values he learned in Moody have helped him succeed in the military. “Growing up, I learned that simple things in life are often better than the major things,” Davis said to Navy Outreach. "I also learned to always give 100%, even if I know I’m going to leave or lose."More than 300 sailors serve aboard the USS Wayne E. Meyer and their jobs range from maintaining engines to handling weaponry and other assignments to keep the ship ready at all times."Our mission remains timeless — to provide our fellow citizens with nothing less than the very best Navy: fully combat ready at all times, focused on warfighting excellence, and committed to superior leadership at every single level," Chief of Naval Operations Adm.
