Thousands of fans are in Talladega for the Yellawood 500 on Sunday. One man is visiting the track for the first time in honor of his late uncle."My uncle recently passed away and this was his favorite track," Gail McCullough said. "He never got to come here, so I thought it would be a great way to honor him."Though he's been a NASCAR fan his whole life, Friday was McCullough's first time at Talladega Superspeedway. He said the track is quickly becoming his favorite."It's great, absolutely great, the race yesterday was super, everybody's been very generous," McCullough said.Talladega's "fan zone" is what's given the speedway McCullough's top spot."The access to the garage and all those types of things makes it a pretty special place," he said.The fan zone allows the fans to get up close and personal with the cars and their pit crews ahead of the race. They also get to visit Victory Lane and see where the winning driver will receive their trophy.Though it was McCullough's first time at Talladega Superspeedway, he's already making plans to come back.When asked if this is his favorite track he said, "I believe so, I'm looking forward to coming back next year. I've got to wait for my grandson to get a little older, but then I'll bring him as well."This was McCullough's ninth NASCAR race, but he said he plans to go to many more at Talladega Superspeedway.

Though he's been a NASCAR fan his whole life, Friday was McCullough's first time at Talladega Superspeedway. He said the track is quickly becoming his favorite.
